Project Overview
BuildPlan Consulting Engineers was engaged to undertake a comprehensive engineering feasibility assessment for a proposed 22-lot residential subdivision in Christchurch, New Zealand. The scope included early-stage infrastructure investigations and concept-level planning to support a future resource consent application, with all work undertaken in accordance with the Christchurch City Council Infrastructure Design Standards and relevant development guidelines.
- Preliminary assessment of water supply infrastructure and identification of suitable connection points
- Wastewater servicing strategy based on existing network capacity and site grading
- Stormwater management planning, including site drainage assessment and lawful point of discharge
- Conceptual design of the internal road network to support lot access and movement efficiency
- Preparation of an Engineering Services Report (ESR) summarising servicing feasibility and design considerations
- Development of concept plans illustrating the proposed subdivision layout and supporting infrastructure
Project Outcome
The engineering feasibility assessment delivered a comprehensive understanding of the site’s servicing potential and infrastructure considerations. The Engineering Services Report and accompanying concept design plans formed an integral component of the development application package, providing the technical justification required to support planning submissions and guide future design stages with confidence.
